M.A.T. pre-release version 0.5b for Nokia 7650/7610/36xx/66xx/6260

Here are the deployment and download instruction for the Nokia 7650,Nokia 7610,Nokia 36xx, Nokia 66xx
and Nokia 6260 Symbian OS version 6.1 and version 7.0 Series 60 devices:


There are 2 ways of downloading the MAT application onto your Nokia device, by downloading over-the-air or by proximity link (infra-red or Bluetooth) download.

For download over the air (OTA):

To download the client over the air, go to the Services application on the main menu of your phone by pressing the Desk key
and going to the Services option. Once in Service press the Option key and select the Add bookmark option. You will be prompted to enter a bookmark Name, Address and other deatils.

Set the Name field to MAT and the bookmark to http://www.remotelabs.net/matdownload . Select Done when ready.

Then select the MAT bookmark by pressing the center of the round button. You will be asked if you wish to make a connection and possibly to sellect the GPRS connection.

Note: You must have your GPRS enabled and your GPRS setting must be valid in order to perform OTA download. If you are having problems please send us feedback.

For download over proximity link:

Download the mat.sis file to your PC. It is a Symbian .sis file that will have to be installed on the Nokia phone. One you have downloaded the software, make sure that you have remebered where you have stored the file. You then need to connect the Phone to the PC using either infra-red (IR) or Bluetooth.

Note: To switch on the Blouetooth or the Infra-red connection go to the main menu of your phone by pressing the Desk key and go down to the Connect option and use the Bluetooth or infro-red controls. You will have to switch on / activate the connection.

If you are using infra-red use your PC infra red utility to send the mat.sis file to the phone. If using Bluetooth, use your Bluetooth PC software suite to send the mat.sis file to you phone.

 

 


Your phone will receive the application and will ask you if you wish to install the application. Select YES.



Your phone will ask you to confirm the vendore of the software and to view the details of the vendor.



You will also be able to view the end-user license agreement.This is also viewable here.

 


The application wil start automatically.
To run the application manually go to the main menu of your phone by pressing the Desk key and go down to the MAT application icon and select it.

 


The application will then start. You will need to know your IMEI number. You can find this number by selecting the Options key and the "Show IMEI code" option.
To start the registration - press the Make Backup Option.
Once the backup is complete - select the Start Listening option.
The application will now run in the background and connect to the Remote Labs' Mobile Device Control Centre. To register at the Centre enter your IMEI code. DO not enter a user name or password. If your phone has contected the server, you will be asked to register your username, password and email address to access your data. Otherwise you have to wait until your mobile has connected to the server for the first time.

Note: Make sure that you enter the IMEI code correctly, as it is quite a long number.

You are now ready to continue using MAT.
 


MAT will tell you when a new version of the software is available.
